Description
Displays much of its noble aroma parentage with hints of orange peel and lifted floral notes although it is the tropical fruit characters of pineapple and mango along with summer fruits such as peach that are most evident in this hop's aroma and flavour profile. Kohatu is also noted for the quality of bitterness it produces when used in early kettle additions. Kohatu means stone or rock in Maori, and this hop was released alongside Wai-iti in 2011.
