Description
Audacia® is the newest release from the Indie Hops Flavor Project, launched for the 2023 Harvest in the Pacific North West US. Audacia® is best described as a 'sassy noble hop', and is the child of Hersbrucker Pure (female), and 1218-2M — a male hop that is closely related to Indie Hops Strata. 1218-2M was kept in the Oregon State University's hop breeding program by breeder Sean Townsend for its exceptional agronomy behaviour, and ended up passing along some excellent flavour attributes to Audacia® too!
Given its noble characteristics, Audacia® naturally lends itself to superb lagers (Helles/Pils/Kölsch), but it's just as comfortable rubbing shoulders in IPA circles too in both NEIPA hazies and West Coast IPAs. Flavours and aromas of whortleberry (huckleberries to our friends at Indie Hops in Portland, USA!), blackcurrant, lingonberry and pomegranate mingle with rose, lilac and lavender. Think summery picnic and you're onto a winner!
