French & Jupps

Malt

French & Jupps is Britain's oldest maltster and one of the oldest manufacturing companies in the world, supplying brewing grains, malt and barley to the food and beverage industry since 1689.

Their Story

Run by the same family for the last 335 years, French & Jupps produce the highest quality small batch speciality malts sourced exclusively from local farms.

The Jupp family originates on the South Downs in West Sussex, where they began life as grain traders in 1689. Since then, French & Jupps have evolved to become synonymous with the highest quality small batch speciality malts for the brewing, food, and whisky industries globally. Their commitment to quality is further assured by their membership in the UK Assured Malt Scheme and the Maltsters Association of Great Britain, which guarantees quality and assures that all their barley is grown in the UK.

French & Jupps Website

At their Stanstead Abbotts site in Hertfordshire, French & Jupps source their barley from local farms, within 4 to 50 miles of their maltings facility, preserving centuries-old tradition of locally sourced barley to produce a unique range of hand-crafted Crystal and Patent Malts including their renowned Cara Gold.
